 PROCEDURE OF TEACHING EXPERIMENTAL AND CONTROL GROUP


EXPERIMENTAL GROUP (using TGT)
CONTROL GROUP (using conventional method)
Pre-reading stage:
  1. The researcher delivers the goal to the students.
  2. The researcher leading the question about material.
Pre-reading stage:
  1. The researcher gave leading question to the students
  2. The researcher gave the material that going to be discussed.
While-reading stage:
  1. The researcher divides the students into some groups based on the amount of the students in the class. Every group consists of 4-5 members.
  2. The researcher gives a text in each group.
  3. The researcher asks the students work in group and share together with their member.
  4. The researcher divides the students into homogeneous group to the table tournament (means that in each table tournament the player have equal ability).
  5. The researcher explains the rule of playing.
  6. The researcher and students prepare for the tournament put the question, answer sheet, and text into table tournament.
  7. The researcher leading the tournament.
  8. The researcher called the first student from each group, until the last student in each group in tournament.
  9. The researcher guides the students to count their score.
  10. The researcher gives the achievement to the best group.
While-reading stage:
  1. The researcher reads the reading material and asks the students to listen carefully about the reading text.
  2. The researcher commands one of the students to read carefully and then turns to another student.
  3. The researcher asks the students to translate the reading text that he or she reads.
  4. The students ask the researcher about the difficult vocabularies related to the text he or she reads.
  5. The researcher has the students to answer the leading question after they read completely the passages.
  6. The researcher reads the correct answer based on the text, and his students match their own answer with him.
Post- reading stage:
  1. The researcher gives evaluation.
  2. The researcher closes the class.
Post- reading stage:
  1. The researcher reviews the main point of the reading text that they have discussed.
  2. The researcher closes the class.
